Technology is enabling new, innovative approaches to measuring biodiversity, as you’ll hear in this DLD Nature session with Linda Hinz (FOCUS Online Earth), Alexander Gerfer (Würth Elektronik) and David Schmider (Hula Earth).
Current methods for measuring biodiversity are often imprecise and difficult to scale. That’s why Hula Earth has developed a digital platform that integrates data collection, analysis, and visualization.
“We want to make the process of deploying our hardware as simple as possible”, Schmider says. “You shouldn’t have to be an expert in order to use Hula, so we decided to design everything so that it can be remotely controlled.”
Würth Elektronik supports Hula Earth by providing expertise in electronics and product design. This collaboration helps in designing products that are ready for mass production from the beginning, Alexander Gerfer says.
