Deep Dive: Impact through Wonder

Prof. Katrin Böhning-Gaese is director of the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre and professor at Goethe University Frankfurt. She focuses on the effects of climate and land-use change on biodiversity, as well on the importance of biodiversity for human well-being. Prof. Böhning-Gaese is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz.

Professor Sarah Dorkenwald is a designer and curator. As Co-creation Manager for HM:UniverCity, the innovation network of Munich University of Applied Sciences, she examines new forms of knowledge transfer in which design serves as a tool for perspective change as well as a catalyst for conceiving, negotiating and testing alternative future scenarios.

An experienced art historian and curator, Sabine Hansky is the Program Director of Munich Urban Colab, which aims to develop sustainable solutions for the city of the future. Previously, she worked in leading positions at the interface of culture, science and business, including at the Deutsches Museum and Herzog & de Meuron.

Tom Kortbeek is co-founder of Fillip Studios, a dutch art and design studio. As a multi-disciplinary designer he works on a broad range of international projects concerning art, music, design, science and business. His focus is on expressing the value of creativity for society.

Lena Thiele is Artistic Director of Miiqo Studios in Berlin. She also holds the professorship for Digital Narratives at the ifs Internationale Filmschule, Cologne. For over 25 years, she has pioneered the development of socially relevant and internationally acclaimed immersive media formats, with a focus on environmental stewardship.
