In their inspiring DLD26 talk, Christabel and Ruby Reed, founders of Advaya, invite the audience to rethink natural ecosystems as webs of relationship.
“It’s all about relationships, and ecology is the study of those relationships”, Ruby explains. The environmental and social crises surrounding us, she argues, reflect “a breakdown in humanity’s relational biosphere, our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.”
What’s needed, Christabel says, is a shift in perception. Radical imagination, as practiced in their work at Advaya, is “our ability to re-establish ourselves in a positive reciprocal orientation towards life” and to envision “life-centered, regenerative futures.”
