In his fast-paced, fact-filled DLD24 presentation, Phil Robinson, Head of Data Science and Insights EMEA at Bloomberg Media, discusses the generative AI marketplace and the perceptions of business leaders towards it.
“About two years ago, only very few of us were aware of generative AI”, Robinson notes at the outset. “And we’re predicting that by 2032, it will be a $1.3 trillion industry.”
In many corporations, there’s currently a disconnect between perception and adoption of AI. “60% of business leaders within their organization think that AI is underutilized”, Robinson says. “But at the same time, 85% think their organization should be using it on a frequent basis.”
The Bloomberg analyst also identifies different types of business leaders, based on their attitudes regarding AI adoption: enthusiastic embracers; watchful observers, who are intrigued but hesitant; the ambivalent who resist change; and the fearful who avoid AI.
