MAGA, meet MEGA: In this DLD Future Hub talk, André Loesekrug-Pietri, Chairman of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI), presents his vision for “making Europe great again” – through boldness, unity and innovation.
“We have lost the edge”, Loesekrug-Pietri argues at the beginning of his presentation. Finding common ground was essential to Europe’s economic success in the future, he adds. “In this world of carnivores it is absolutely necessary for our nation states, France, Germany, Poland, etc., to stick together.”
Wearing a green baseball cap with the motto of his speech, the JEDI Chairman points to green as the “color of hope” – a symbol that Europe can make a comeback through a grassroots movement of innovators, investors, entrepreneurs and democratic activists.
“We are asking ourselves, how can we make an incredible movement out of this?”, Loesekrug-Pietri says. “This is growing 1,000 people per week. It was 500 a month ago. So you see we are a little bit on an exponential scale.”
