In the digital age, photography has been democratized and made accessible to nearly everyone. In this talk, photographer Kurt Moser speaks to journalist Karl Hoffmann about his “Lightcatcher” project – an effort to slow down photography by reverting to a technique that dates back to the 1850s.

Kurt Moser has been working in the documentary film sector for international broadcasters such as ZDF, ARD, ARTE, BBC and CNN. His UNESCO project Lightcatcher is a visual ode to the Dolomites mountain range, realized with Ambrotypes, a glass plate technique from 1850 and an almost 2-meter big historic camera.
