In her DLD26 talk, Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Minister for Health Care and Prevention, explores how technology reshapes disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, fostering personalized care while reducing administrative burdens.
From AI-assisted tumor detection to reducing red tape in healthcare systems, Gerlach underscores how technology is creating more time for what truly matters: humans. “Technology should ease workloads and provide support, but people must always remain at the heart of healthcare.”
Gerlach also showcases Bavaria’s initiatives, including three groundbreaking AI-driven health projects: DENSE-BAVARIA for breast cancer and cardiovascular disease detection without contrast agents; Go-Twin for ovarian carcinoma using a 4D twin model to improve surgical planning; and Endo-KI for endometriosis diagnosis via AI-supported ultrasound.
