Entrepreneur Gerhard Veizi, the Albanian representative of VYTAL, shares how smart reusable packaging can spark change in the food and retail industries. He draws from VYTAL’s experience building a network for reusable containers to show how technology and collaboration can make circularity practical and profitable.
Instead of selling single-use items, Vytal creates a service where consumers borrow reusable containers through a frictionless return system. “We stop selling stuff and start selling service certainty,” he says.
The key is making participation easy: multiple drop points, instant deposit refunds, and inspection systems ensure the containers remain in the cycle. “We have to be as frictionless as possible for the consumer to be part of this loop.”
This approach not only reduces waste but creates cost savings and expands profit margins. “In the second month of usage, you get the whole investment back,” Veizi explains, calling circularity “good math for business.”
