Deutsche Telekom board member Claudia Nemat and technology analyst Azeem Azhar (Exponential View) discuss the potential of artificial intelligence in business and society – and how, specifically, Deutsche Telekom has been applying AI technologies.
“We have been working with AI for a longer time”, Nemat says, adding that the technology has been particularly helpful with infrastructure planning. “We are building 2.5 million fiber lines per year, and we would not be able to do that without AI.”
Field workers can also ask a generative AI chatbot for assistance “instead of having to call someone or go through 7,000 PDF-type of documents”.
AI systems have also become invaluable in securing Deutsche Telekom’s network and dectecting cyber attacks, Nemat says. “With automation and AI, you get a much better pattern recognition for anomalies and a real-time response on that as well.”
