The most important skill in the age of AI might well be asking the right questions. In this spirit, tech veteran Bill Gross, founder of Idealab, shares his favorite prompts in this highly informative DLD26 talk.
“I want to make you more productive with AI”, Gross says, “by giving you things you can literally start using tomorrow morning.”
He then introduces ten prompts designed to shift AI from tool to “thinking partner for critical things”. This often means quizzing the AI, rather than asking for direct answers.
One example: “Help me think this through without telling me what to do.” Gross suggests giving this prompt “to your favorite AI system, and you’ll see that sometimes the most valuable help isn’t just an answer, but the process of thought.”
