Artificial Intelligence can be a powerful creative partner that allows artists to explore new dimensions of their work, as you’ll hear in this captivating DLD Future Hub conversation between curator Franziska Stöhr and renowned artist Miguel Chevalier.
The session focuses on Chevalier’s pioneering work with AI and algorithms, particularly in his exhibition “Digital by Nature” at Kunsthalle München. Chevalier has worked with computers since the 1980s and sees AI as an extension of his long-standing exploration into generative art, where chance and randomness create ever-evolving digital landscapes.
“For me, the AI is a tool”, Chevalier emphasizes. “Like some other tool, but a powerful tool.” He warns that “if you have no vision of what you want to do” the AI will not be of much help, as prompts and human intent remain decisive for the result.
