Acton Capital partner Sebastian Wossagk moderates a dynamic panel featuring three founders who have embedded AI at the core of their products to tackle complex business problems: David Hahn (Remberg), Thorsten Heilig (Paretos) and Felix Hoffmann (7learnings ).
The session reveals how AI is already transforming industries with practical applications driving measurable business outcomes. “Beyond the hype of generative AI, AI has found its way into many applications across very different industries,” Wossagk notes, highlighting that “20% of all European venture capital now flows into AI companies.”
Thorsten Heilig explains how his company’s decision intelligence platform helps large organizations make better operational decisions. “When you look at planning and operations in larger organizations, it’s super complex and there are tons of decisions every day”, Heilig says. Paretos uses various AI models to optimize these decisions across multiple parameters, he explains.
David Hahn demonstrates how AI addresses labor shortages in industrial settings, for example when machines malfunction. “We don’t have enough people in the blue collar space who can deal with these assets when they are broken”, he points out. Remberg’s solution is to digitize asset management, which allows non-technical staff to easily access maintenance information through QR codes and AI-powered interfaces that work across language barriers.
The next step will be “going from AI assistance to AI action in the industrial segment”, he says. “That’s what I believe is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be at the forefront industrial AI applications.”
Felix Hoffmann shares how 7learning’s AI-driven pricing optimization helps retailers make better decisions at scale. “AI can give you a prediction upfront what the impact is” of setting a certain price, Hoffmann explains. His company’s solution can handle millions of products across dozens of countries simultaneously, he says, providing recommendations that align with a company’s financial goals.
