Martin Keller is the President of the Helmholtz Association, Germany’s largest research organization. After earning his PhD in microbiology, he spent much of his career in the U.S. At the Oak Ridge National Laboratory he served as founding director of the BioEnergy Science Center and later led the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado.
