Prof. James Marshall is Director of the Centre for Machine Intelligence at the University of Sheffield and co-founder of Opteran Technologies. With an interdisciplinary background spanning computer science and biology, Prof. Marshall seeks to understand the behavior and brains of insects, and use this Natural Intelligence approach to design very efficient, robust, and understandable controllers for robotics.
