The future doesn’t have a roadmap. It’s a thrilling, untamed frontier. That’s why our promise for DLD Munich 2026 was simple: “It’s Gonna Be Wild!”
For 2 ½ days, the DLD stage was home to the world’s most visionary founders, scientists, and artists. Our speakers ventured into uncharted territories, sharing the latest advancements in AI, quantum computing, biotech, new energy systems – and explore where these developments intersect with mobility, creativity, art, design, and more.

Meredith Whittaker
Meredith Whittaker is the President of the Signal Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to secure global communication best known for its popular Signal Messenger app. Previously the co-founder of the AI Now Institute, Whittaker has advised many governments and civil society organizations on artificial intelligence, Internet policy, privacy and security.
Speaker ProfileStuart Russell
Stuart Russell is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley, Director of the Center for Human-Compatible AI, and the Kavli Center for Ethics, Science, and the Public. His current work focuses on the long-term future of AI and its relation to humanity. He is working to ban lethal autonomous weapons systems.

In addition to being Amazon’s Chief Technology Officer, Werner Vogels is an engineer, architect, scientist, programmer, product guy, executive, disruptor, investor, mentor, advisor, analyst, academic, sales guy, entrepreneur, data analyst, system administrator, evangelist, debater, father, musician and biker.

Marietje Schaake is international policy director at Stanford University’s Cyber Policy Center, as well international policy fellow at the University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Between 2009 and 2019, she served as a Member of European Parliament.

Margrethe Vestager served as the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for “A Europe Fit for the Digital Age and Competition” from 2019–2024. She was also the European Commissioner for Competition from 2014 to 2024. She now serves as chair of the Danish Technical University and is a World Leader Fellow at Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University.

Maria Ressa is the co-founder, CEO, and executive editor of Rappler.com, an online news organization in the Philippines. She has been honored around the world for her courageous work in fighting disinformation and defending freedom of the press. In 2021, she received the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Dmitry Muratov.

Kate Raworth (pronounced “Ray-worth”) is an economist exploring the economic mindset needed to address the 21st century’s social and ecological challenges. Her internationally acclaimed framework of Doughnut Economics has been widely influential. She is a Senior Research Associate at Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute. Bjarke Ingels is the founder of the architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). He has designed award-winning buildings worldwide, emphasizing a socially, economically and ecologically sustainable approach to architecture and urbanism. His projects include The Mountain and the innovative Danish Maritime Museum in Elsinore, among many others.
