DLD Future Hub: Impact of AI

Benjamin Rathgeber is a co-director of the Center for Responsible AI Technologies (CReAITech) and a Professor for Philosophy of Technology at the Munich School of Philosophy (HfPH). His work focuses on Artificial Intelligence and the intersection of philosophy of technology, anthropology, and philosophy of science.

Prof. Bernhard Grill is a Director at Fraunhofer IIS with a focus on audio and media technologies. He is one of the inventors of the MP3 technology, for which he was awarded the German Future Prize in 2000, along with Karlheinz Brandenburg and Harald Popp. In recent years, Prof. Grill has worked on advancing the development of digital signal processing using AI.

Bernhard Kowatsch is the Director Global Accelerator and Ventures at the UN World Food Programme (WFP). He oversees corporate innovation management and ventures teams worldwide, as well as the Innovation Accelerator, which he created in 2015. He also co-founded the award-winning fundraising app ShareTheMeal, which has raised more than $200 million so far.

Birgit Berthold-Kremser is an internationally recognized C-Level Executive and thought leader in marketing, sustainability, communications, and business transformation. She held global top management roles at premium brands such as Siemens, Swarovski, and the Peek & Cloppenburg Group. Berthold-Kremser serves as an anchor woman for the prestigious Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL Alumni).

Björn Ommer is a full professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He heads the Computer Vision and Learning Research Group which developed the AI model Stable Diffusion. Previously a professor Heidelberg University, Ommer received his diploma in computer science from University of Bonn and his PhD from ETH Zurich.

Carol Blázquez is Head of Innovation and Sustainability at ECOALF, one of the most innovative companies in the fashion sector. With a degree in Fashion Design from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master’s degree from Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Carol has extensive experience in the world of fashion.

Christian Adler is Co-Founder and CEO of LoopID, a Munich- and Stockholm-based startup whose AI solutions give physical products a voice, enabling them to communicate with users through chat and natural language. Adler previously co-founded Twinu and spent more than a decade at the Boston Consulting Group, where he built BCG’s global digital transformation and AI offerings.

Dr. Christian Hartel is President & CEO of Wacker Chemie AG, a chemical-sector company that aims to strike a balance between economic, ecological and social responsibilities. Dr. Hartel is also Vice President of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI).
